HotelGB 1st – 5th October 2012
So tonight the new reality TV show HotelGB launches with celebrities managing teams of unemployed hopefuls who will experience the opportunities and challenges of working in the hospitality industry.
The girls team is headed up by Mary Portas who will have celebrities Kirtsy Allsop, Katie Piper, Hilary Devey, and Kim Woodburn assisting to look after the Reception and Spa with Sara Cox tweeting. The boys team is headed up by Chef Gordan Ramsay, with Gok Wan, Dr Christian Jessen, and Phil Spencer looking after the Bar, Restaurant and Gym with Tim Lovejoy tweeting.
The celebrities will run the hotel managing the various departments and their staff of unemployed inexperienced hopefuls who will be showing that they are willing and able to handle all of their guests requests and demonstrate a positive can do attitude throughout. The outcome for them could be a career in hospitality, although it is there celebrity managers who have to ensure that they are successful in securing full time paid employment by the end of the week.
All monies raised from this hotel venture will be donated to employment charities.
As I am passionate about hospitality this is something that cannot be missed. In order to get in on the action too I have applied to be a guest – although I expect so have many others. It would be wonderful if I do get on the show although if not I will just have to be content on watching it from the sofa. Either way ensure you tune in tonight Channel 4 at 9pm – it is on every night from 1st to 5th October – let’s find out how they do….
