The Conscious Cake Cafe

Today I was invited to the launch of The Conscious Cake Cafe, a pop up with a difference located at Love Die Late in Great Portland Street. Founded by Danica Apolline this cafe is doing more than just serving cupcakes that are organic and free from cane sugar, wheat, gluten, dairy, eggs, GMOs and pesticides. They are made with love and each cake represents one of the chakras.  Although it is not just about the cakes, The Conscious Cake Company has started a movement…

It states on their website: “We’re about shaking things up a little; starting new conversations, inspiring people around the world to think differently about business, sustainability, the environment, health, food – and having a lot of fun along the way.

Following the “Triple P” approach to business (Profit + People + Planet), we believe that how we run businesses can change the world.

This is a for-profit philanthropic business”.

Having met Danica I can say with confidence that they certainly are authentic in delivering what they believe in. Those of you that read my blogs, my books and are part of the Hospitality Superheroes support group will know that I am very much for the ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ and ‘Paying it Forward’ philosophy and I was delighted to hear that Danica has partnered up with a charity where she will be giving away her unsold cakes.

This charity works with the homeless and it is not just about giving these people food, it is also about re-connecting them with their loved ones through video messages on social media. Miracle Messages started in America and is coming to the UK.

The Conscious Cake Cafe is a very sociable place with events every day of the week from meditations, inspirational films, through to sing-a-longs for charity and children’s workshops.

So if you want to see a really authentic business in action then pop along to the Conscious Cake Cafe – and of course taste their cakes which are delicious!
